WH (Heer) General's Tunic & Trousers
Wehrmacht (Heer) General's Tunic as intended for a 'Generalleutnant'. The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. Nice quality, 'privately purchase' M36-style field-grey woolen tunic with dark-green collar and red piping around the collar, sleeves and front closure panel. The buttons are all the gold coloured pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with a pair of shoulder-boards of the sew-in type, a pair of General's collar tabs and a nicely hand-embroidered General's breast-eagle which is nicely hand-applied. The shoulder boards are having one pip attached indicating the rank of 'Generalleutnant'. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket to attach several medals/awards including loops to attach a German Cross in Gold to the right breast-pocket. Inside the tunic is a tailor label of 'Alfred Gessner' from Würzburg. The tunic shows some minor traces of usage. The tunic comes with a nice pair of General's trousers, totally matching in condition and construction to the tunic, the trousers are in very good condition. Stunning and rare original Wehrmacht Army General's Tunic in very good condition!
This General's tunic originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
