Waffen-SS Tropical Shorts
Waffen-SS Tropical Shorts (Waffen-SS kurze Tropenhose für Mannschaften). Because of the service in tropical regions in the Balkans, Greece and southern Russia the SS developed in circa 1942/43 assorted tropical uniforms and headgear that basically followed the same patterns of the continental items. Included with the tropical garments were the 'Sahariana' style field blouse and shirt which were based on the popular Italian 'Sahariana' bush jacket. This is a pair of tropical Waffen-SS shorts, made of tan colored cotton, with light brown/orange coloured plastic buttons (all appear to be originally sewn). The shorts are nicely maker and size marked. The shorts are in very good only slighlty worn condition showing minimal traces of usage. These shorts would display great with a Sahariana style jacket. These tropical SS shorts are scarce and extremely hard to find, especially in this condition!
