Wehrmacht 'Sumpftarn' Camouflage Smock

Description

Wehrmacht 'Sumpftarn' Camouflage Smock (Tarnhemd). The Wehrmacht camouflage smocks were based on the Waffen-SS camouflage smocks and were officially introduced in late 1942. The first pattern smocks came in the army 'Splittertarn' camouflage pattern, and were without a hood. The second pattern smocks came in the army 'Sumpftarn' (tan/water) camouflage pattern and included an integral hood. This smock is showing the Sumpf 43 pattern camouflage. The smock is having seven pair of stitched eyelets for a drawstring closure, the smock comes with a replaced drawstring as found together. The original drawstring around the waistline is still present. The smock is having two vertical breast openings. The smock is not visible maker marked or size marked. The smocks were designed to fit over the standard service uniform and are therefore quite large. The smock is showing clear traces of usage and some small damages, see photos for details. The smock is still showing strong colours. Great for a Wehrmacht sniper (Scharfschützen) display, hard to find desirable original smock in combat worn condition!
