Cased Iron Cross 1st Class 'L/58' Screw-Back
Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) that comes in its original etui as issued. On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class medal was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. The magnetic cross has a three piece construction and the cross does show great detail overall and a slightly darkened age patina, see photos. The cross comes on its original screw-back set-up. The cross is nicely maker marked 'L/58' indicating production by the company of 'Rudolf Souval' from Wien. The cross comes in its matching original 'LDO' marked screw-back type case.
