Kriegsmarine Range Finder Operator's Specialty Trade Badge (Entfernungsmesser Sonderausbildung Abzeichen). On successful completion of the appropriate training, personnel were issued distinctive career insignia. Regulations dictated that the base color of the insignia was to match the color of the uniform it was worn on. The insignia is nicely machine-embroiderd on an oval navy blue wool base showing a range finder positioned on a triangle which encompasses a flaming artillery shell. Nice example in good unissued condition!
