Stripped WH (Heer) General's Tunic
Stripped Wehrmacht (Heer) General's Tunic. This is an old style General's tunic having a 6 button front closure and slash hip pockets with flaps. This tunic most likely originates from a General who has been a Prisoner of War. All insignia have been removed, the ghost of a pair of General's collar tabs are clearly visible. The buttons have most likely been replaced with field grey buttons. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket to attach several medals/awards. There is no tailor label or name tag present inside the tunic. The tunic shows clear traces of usage, some staining and small damages. Overall an interesting tunic to display just as it is, a POW General's tunic, or it might be a nice start for a restauration project for an Army General. Interesting tunic!
This General's tunic originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
