Waffen-SS Dutch Volunteer's Collar Tab

Description

Waffen-SS Collar Tab (Kragenspiegel) as intended for a member within the '23.SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division "Nederland" (Niederlandische Nr.1)'. As with other foreign volunteer units the Germans devised and produced special insignia intended for soldiers of the '23.SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division "Nederland" (Niederlandische Nr.1)'. The collar tab is showing an embroidered 'Wolfsangel' (Wolfhook) in silver/grey thread on black wool. The collar tab is having a nice light-brown, coloured 'Buckram' backing. The collar-tab originates almost certainly from the SS clothing department at the Dachau KZ when liberated in 1945. This collar tab was taken as a souvernir by a US GI who wrote on the back 'German SS Soldier Insignia'.  Nice original collar-tab in good unissued condition!
