Wehrmacht 'Afrika' Cufftitle (Ärmelband). The 'Afrika' cufftitle was introduced on 15 January 1943 and held the status of a campaign award, since the cufftitle was considered a military combat decoration, it was awarded with a corresponding award document (and entries in the 'Soldbuch' and/or 'Wehrpass'). The cufftitle was to be worn on the right lower arm (except greatcoats). The camelhair cufftitle measures approximately 37cms in length. The cufftitle is made of woven, brushed, khaki/tan camelhair and features the in silver/grey thread machine embroidered script: 'Afrika', flanked by palm trees. The cufftitle is good used condition, there is some glue residu on the back, it has most likely been pasted in a scrapbook once, see photos. Nice original cufftitle!
