WH (Heer) Officer's M43 Cap
WH (Heer) Officer's M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Offiziere). The M43 field cap was introduced for wear by all ranks on 11 June 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper’s Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. The wool construction M43 cap is having silver officers piping attached to the crown of the cap. The cap is having a thin lining material, the cap is not visible maker marked or dated. The simulated leather sweatband is in heavily damaged condition, see photos. The cap is complete with an original BeVo-woven type cap-eagle/cocarde trapezoid which is nicely hand-sewn to the front of the cap. Nice original WH Heer M43 Officer's cap in good used condition!
