Cased Spange to the Iron Cross 1st Class
Cased 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross 1st Class 1914 (Wiederholungsspange 1939 für das Eiserne Kreuz 1.Klasse 1914). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross series of awards in the First and Second Classes and established the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross and two new Spangen (Bars) for the first and second class awards to be bestowed to recipients of the 1939 Iron Cross who had also been awarded a first or second class 1914 Iron Cross during WWI. The tombak (Buntmetall) clasp is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to the company of 'B.H. Mayer' in Pforzheim. The clasp is complete with its functional pin and catch. The clasp is in very good unissued condition, showing great silver finish and polished highlights. The box is showing some minor usage on the corners and is in overall very good condition. Nice original set in stunning condition!
