German Police Combat Field Blouse (Polizei Feldbluse M42). The police were divided into eight assorted branches of service and during the restructuring the different police agencies were assigned specific identifying 'Truppenfarbe' (Branch Colors), with green truppenfarbe being allocated to the 'Schutzpolizei des Reichs' (National Protection Police). The German Police had no enlisted ranks with the lowest rank being an 'Unterwachtmeister' which was equivalent to the German army rank of Unteroffizier. This is a nice late war police tunic as intended for an 'Oberwachtmeister der Schutzpolizei'. The tunic is having four pockets with field-grey finished, pebbled metal, buttons. There is a six-button front closure using the same type of buttons. There is a lay flat collar with a metal hook and loop neck closure. The tunic is complete with a pair of slip-on shoulder-boards as intended for an 'Oberwachtmeister', a pair of BeVo woven collar-tabs is nicely machine-sewn to the collar. A nicely BeVo-woven police eagle is machine-sewn to the wearer's left sleeve. The interior is a green/brown coloured cotton-rayon blend lining material, it is maker and size marked with black ink stamps and dated 1943. The field blouse is in very good, only slightly used condition, see photos. The tunic comes together with a matching pair of Straight Leg Trousers (Polizei Hose). The trousers are nicely maker marked and dated 1943 as well. This would make a great combat police display!
