Italian Tropical Sahariana Shirt as often worn by SS troops as tropical shirt (Tropenhemd). Because of the service in tropical regions in the Balkans, Greece and southern Russia the SS developed in circa 1942/43 assorted tropical uniforms and headgear that basically followed the same patterns of the continental items. Included with the tropical garments were the 'Sahariana' style field blouse and shirt which were based on the popular Italian 'Sahariana' bush jacket. This is an original Italian made Sahariana shirt, constructed of tan colored cotton, with wooden type buttons. The shirt is not visible marked. The shirt is in clearly used and sun-faded condition. Nice original shirt!
