Luftwaffe 'Flak' EM's Greatcoat
Luftwaffe EM's Greatcoat (Mantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Luftwaffe grey woolen construction, it has two rows of six front closure buttons and the greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline. A few buttons are missing, see photos. The heavy quality greatcoat is partially lined with grey/tan cotton lining material. The Greatcoat is nicely size marked (chest size: 92cms) and marked with 'L.B.A.38' - 'Luftwaffe Bekleidungs Amt' 1938. Inside the greatcoat is a nice unit marking as well indicating that this greatcoat belogned to a member within a 'Flak' unit. A pair of red coloured Flak collar tabs have been removed from the collar. The greatcoat is in heavily used condition showing clear traces of usage, some damages, staining and repairs, see photos. This greatcoat has recently been found with a housecleaning in Bavaria and is in uncleaned condition as found. Nice original Flak member's greatcoat in heavily used condition!
