Luftwaffe Flight Officer's Flight Blouse
Luftwaffe Flight Officer's Flight Blouse (Fliegerbluse). The Luftwaffe flight blouse was originally introduced in early 1935 and was based on the Fliegerbluse worn earlier by the DLV (Deutscher Luftsport Verband). The flight blouse remained in service through-out the war with minor modifications. The blue/grey wool construction flight blouse features a vertical French fly style, front closure with four metal dish-buttons on the right front panel and the corresponding, hidden button holes on the left front panel. The blouse has a single metal hook and eye at the neck for a secure closure. A nicely hand-embroidered Luftwaffe officer's type breast-eagle is nicely hand-sewn to the blouse, I've re-applied this breast eagle. The collar is originally piped with silver cord and is having a pair of yellow coloured collar tabs hand-sewn to the collar, indicating an 'Oberleutnant der Flieger'. The tunic is complete with a nice pair of sew-in type shoulder-boards both having one rank pip attached. An original 'Jagdgeschwader Udet' cufftitle is nicely hand-sewn to the wearer's left sleeve, the cufftitle was normally worn on the rigth sleeve, this is however how I've found the tunic. The interior of the flight blouse is partially lined in light grey coloured rayon. The flight blouse is nicely RB.Nr. marked and there are size markings (chest size 96 cms) and the flight blouse is 'L.B.A.' (Luftwaffe Bekleidungs Ampt) and dated 1943. There are some minor (moth)damages and/or traces of usage, see photos. Nice original Flight Officer's flight blouse in good used condition!
