SA 'Wehrmannschaften' Service Tunic

Description

SA (Sturmabteilung) 'Wehrmannschaften' Service Tunic (Dienstrock). The SA (Sturmabteilung) was originally formed in August 1921 as a protective guard unit for the political leaders of the NSDAP. SA brown wool construction tunic with a four button front closure, the tunic has two breast pockets and two hidden hip pockets. The buttons are the silvered pebbled type, marked with 'RZM M5/98'. A standard red cotton party armband with separately attached white roundel and sewn on black swastika is sewn to upper left sleeve. The tunic is having a pair of white piped dark-brown collar tabs sewn to the collar. The tunic is partly lined in tan cotton, a faded RZM etiket is stitched inside one of the belt-support straps. There are ink-markings from the Bavarian Film Studios 'Bavaria Filmkunst' inside the lining indicating that this tunic has been reissued in the post-war movie productions. Therefore all insignia have most likely been replaced once. Overall a nice and interesting original SA-Wehrmannschaften Tunic which would make a nice restauration project for a fair price!
