Third Reich State Officials Diplomatic Uniform
Description
Third Reich 'Generalgouvernement' State Officials Diplomatic Uniform in the rank of 'Generalkonsul'. The tunic is made of field grey wool and is having two rows of diplomatic corps tunic buttons, maker marked by the company of 'Assmann & Söhne' from Lüdenscheid. The tunic is having silver piping around the collar. The tunic is complete with a hand-embroidered in bullion Diplomatic Corps rank insignia showing one star indicating the rank of 'Generalkonsul', a hand-embroiderd 'Generalgouvernement' cuff title is nicely hand-sewn to the wearer's left lower sleeve. The was locally made in Poland by the tailor 'M. Węglarski' from Krakow. The tunic is in overall good condition with some (moth)damage, mainly on the bottom of the tunic, see photos. The period black&white photograph is showing similar tunics in wear, this photo originates from the Polish Archive (Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe), in the photo 'Otto Wächter' can be seen wearing a similar tunic with 'Generalgouvernement' cuff title to the sleeve.
