WH (Heer) Infantry Hauptmann's Leather Greatcoat (Ledermantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Officers were entitled to wear a leather version of the standard greatcoat as an optional item. This is a privately purchased WH (Heer) grey leather construction greatcoat, it has two rows of six front closure buttons. There is a metal hook and eye at the neckline indicating a Heeres issue type greatcoat. The heavy quality greatcoat is fully lined with rayon lining material. The greatcoat is having a build in clip to attach the Heer Dagger Hangers through the pocket. The Greatcoat is complete with label from the tailor 'Tschache & Co' from Dresden. The greatcoat shows normal traces of usage, the leather is still in very good and supple condition. The greatcoat is complete with a pair of removable shoulder-boards as intended for a 'Hauptmann der Infanterie' clearly matching the condition of the greatcoat and found as such.
