Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Tunic as intended for a 'Hauptmann der Reserve' within 'Infanterie-Regiment 13'. The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice Enlisted Men's issue M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The buttons are all the field-grey pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all original applied insignia, including a nicely hand-embroidered Officer's type breast-eagle, sew-in type shoulder boards and hand sewn collar tabs. Both the collar tabs shoulder-boards are piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the 'Infanterie', the shoulder-boards are having a secundary grey colour, two pips and the cyphers '13' attached indicating that this tunic belonged to a reserve 'Hauptmann' within the 'Infanterie-Regiment 13'. There are loops to the wearer's left breast-pocket to attach various medals/badges. There is a set of award-loops to the wearer's right breast indicating that the tunic belonged to a German Cross in Gold recipient. A World War 1 Iron Cross 2nd Class and Ostmedal ribbon are originally hand-sewn through one of the button-holes. The iron cross ribbon is having a Iron Cross 2nd Class Repetition Clasp attached to the ribbon indicating that the wearer of this tunic was a recipient of the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class and had also been awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd class during WWI. The tombak clasp is having the typical curved datebar for the so called "1st pattern". The clasp is not visible maker marked but can very likely be attributed to the company of 'Boerger & Co' from Berlin. The clasp is complete with both it's original prongs and nicely sewn to the ribbon. The tunic is complete with internal dagger-hangers. The tunic is in overall very good condition with minimal age toning, see photos. Stunning original tunic of a highly decorated Infantry Captain!
