Description

Wehrmacht (Heer) Officer's Tunic as intended for an 'Oberleutnant der Infanterie' (Infantry). The German Officer’s service tunic followed the basic design of the Enlisted Men/NCO’s field blouse, the most readily visible difference (besides the insignia) are the turned up French cuffs. This is a nice quality, 'privately purchased' M36-style field-grey wool tunic with dark-green collar. The tunic is in overall very good condition with normal traces of usage and some staining. The buttons are all the field-grey pebbled examples. The tunic is complete with all insignia, including a nicely hand-embroidered breast-eagle, shoulder boards and officer's type collar tabs. Both the collar tabs and sew-in type shoulder-boards are piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch colour) indicating the Infantry. The insignia appear to be original applied. The fully lined tunic is not visible maker marked. Nice original Infantry Officer's Field Blouse in good used and worn condition!
