WH (Heer) Officer's Greatcoat 1944
Description
Late war WH (Heer) M36 style Officer's Greatcoat (Wachmantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. The field-grey woolen construction greatcoat is having a dark-green collar, the greatcoat is fully lined with rayon lining material. It has two rows of six front closure buttons and the greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline. A pair of sew-in type shoulder boards has been removed. Inside the pocket is a label from the tailor 'Hans Gulde' from Gnesen (Gniezno) and the label is named and dated 1944. The label is hard to read, the greatcoat most likely belonged to an Army Officer or Waffen-SS member. The greatcoat is in good worn condition with some normal traces of usage and some small (moth)damages, see photos. The greatcoat is in uncleaned condition as found. Nice original late war Officer's greatcoat!
