WH (Heer) Tropical Breeches (Tropen Stiefelhose). With the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for 'Deutsches Afrika Korps'. This is a second pattern, light weight, olive/khaki green, cotton construction breeches with a pronounced, vertical, ribbed weave. The horizontal waistband has a tunnel loop which houses a built-in olive/khaki cotton belt. The breeches are nicely size marked and 'RB.Nr.0/1297/0008' marked. A carton manufacturer's label is still sewn to the breeches, indicating production by the company of 'Hanisch & Co.' from Prossnitz. The pants are in mint and unissued condition, there is some minimal staining caused by years of storage, see photos. Nice original tropical breeches!
