WW2 Iron Cross 2nd Class '1'

Description

Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, the cross does still have the neat so-called: 'Hochpolierte Kanten'. The cross comes with its original ribbon as found. The cross is maker marked with number '1' indicating production by the company of 'Deschler & Sohn' from München. These normal "1" marked crosses by 'Descher' are actually much scarcer and harder to find then their "round 3" variant. Extremely rare and hard to find original cross in very good condition!
