  US Bronze Star Medal in Box. The Bronze Star Medal was instituted on 4 February 1944 and was awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievements or meritorious service in the combat zone. The medal comes in its original box and is complete with ribbon bar and comes in its original box, the box is in good condition. The medal is nicely machine engraved with his name 'James C. Burke Jr.' who was a flight member within the USAAF during the war, I have some pdf files of the pay-roll where he is mentioned as an aviation cadet which enlisted on 8 October 1942 with service number '11093537', he enlisted in Boston, MA. Nice original set which merits further investigation!
