U.S. Airborne M1942 Paratrooper Jump Jacket. An iconic U.S. Airborne uniform jacket as worn by for example the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions during D-Day on 6 June 1944 as well as during Operation Market Garden in September 1944. The jacket is complete with its functional 'talon' marked zipper and functional press-studs. Inside the pocket is a washed out label present. The jacket is showing clear traces of usage and some fraying inside the collar and at the sleeve ends. A 101st Airborne patch has been reapplied to the wearer's left upper sleeve. This jacket will be a perfect start for a nice Normandy 1944 display!
