World War 2 U.S. 1st Armored Division Patch. The 1st Armored Division was the first armored division of the United States' Army to see battle in World War II as part of the Allied invasion of Northwest Africa, Operation Torch, on 8 November 1942. After the Allied invasion of Sicily, the 1st Armored Division, which was part of the American Fifth Army, invaded mainland Italy. The division continued in combat to the Po Valley until the German forces in Italy surrendered on 2 May 1945. In June, the division moved to Germany as part of the occupation forces.. The triangular shaped badge is nicely machine-woven showing a white back. Nice original US 1st Armored Division Patch in very good condition!
