Wehrmacht Cavalry Y-straps 1940

Description

Wehrmacht Cavalry Y-straps (Koppeltraggestell für Kavallerie). The Y-straps were designed to assist in distributing the weight of the equipment carried on the load bearing waist belt to the shoulders. The special Cavalry Y-straps were intended to carry the smaller saddlebag as a backpack. The cavalry Y-straps were introduced on 15 February 1940. This is an early example having aluminum and steel parts, including square shaped D-rings. The Y-straps are nicely maker marked by the company of 'Carl Busse' from Mainz and dated 1940. The Y-straps are in used condition, the leather is a bit dry and the Y-straps are in uncleaned condition as found. Extremely rare original Cavalry Y-straps!
