Rare original Wehrmacht 'Don Cossacks' Souvenir Wall Plaque, placed on a wooden background. The plaque is showing the logo of the Don Cossacks' (Landesschild für Freiwillige Don-Kosaken). The shield shows the cyrillic letters 'вД' for Voysko Donskoye, the region of the Don Cossacks (Донские казаки). The cossacks served within the 1st Cossack Calvary Division which was formed from Don, Kuban and Terek Cossacks. The detailed plaque is placed on a wooden base, sized approximately 20 x 15 cms. It is complete with a metal eyelet to hang it on the wall. The plaque is not visible dated but looks from period production like many similar souvernir wall plaques. Nice and decorative original item which would be a great addition to an Eastern Volunteer collection!
