WH (Heer) Medical NCO's M42 Greatcoat (Tuchmantel). The Greatcoat belonged to the standard equipment of every soldier. The greatcoat could be worn in cold weather or rain and all other conceivable situations. Late war heavy quality Italian blend field-grey woolen construction greatcoat, it is partly lined with tan coloured rayon lining material. The greatcoat has two rows of six front closure buttons and the greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline. The greatcoat is complete with all buttons and the shoulder-board loops are present. The greatcoat is complete with a nice pair of shoulder straps as intended for an 'Unteroffizier' within a medical (Sanitäter) unit. A period looking medical armband is attached to the left sleeve. The greatcoat is faintly size marked (chest size 92cms). The greatcoat is in good used condition but showing some (moth)damage, mainly around the bottom part of the coat, see photos. This greatcoat would be perfect for an Ardennes Offensive medical front display. Just a nice and honest late war greatcoat in good used condition!
