WW1 Friedrich-August Cross 1st Class - Godet

World war 1 Friedrich-August Cross first class (Friedrich-August-Kreuz). The Friedrich-August Cross was a German decoration of World War 1. It was instituted on 24 September 1914 by Friedrich August II (Großherzog von Oldenburg) in two classes, to award to all persons of military or civilian status, who have shown outstanding service during the war. The obverse of the cross bears a circular central medallion with the initials 'FA' (Friedrich August). The crown of Oldenburg crown appears on the upper arm of the cross, with the lower arm bearing the date 1914. The magnetic iron cross is having a jeweler made silver reverse which is nicely maker marked by the famous 'Godet' company from Berlin. The pin and catch are in perfect functional condition, it is having two additional soldered on hooks original on the back, see photos. This piece was an expensive private purchased example, extremely rare variant Friedrich-August Cross 1st Class in very good condition, unique piece!
