This is a very nice World War 1 U-Boat War Badge 1918 (U-boot-Kriegsabzeichen 1918). The U-Boat War Badge 1918 was instituted by 'Kaiser Wilhelm II' on 1 February 1918 for award to all ranks of U-Boat personnel who had served in at least three sorties against the enemy or were wounded in action. The pin & catch are of course fully functional. The tombak (Buntmetall) badge is nicely maker marked by the company of 'Walter Schott fec.'. The badge still shows a fair amount of it's original greenish patina. This is a hard to find original World War 1 periodic awarded badge. Great original WW1 U-boat war badge!
