WW1 2-Piece Medal Bar
This is a nice original World War 1 2-Piece Medal Bar (Ordenspange) consisting of a WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse), and a Bremen Hanseatic Cross. The Hanseatic Cross (Hanseatenkreuz) was a military decoration of the three Hanseatic city-states of Bremen, Hamburg and Lübeck, who were members of the German Empire during World War I. Each city established its own version of the cross, but the design and award criteria were similar for each. The hanseatic cross regrettably is showing some enamel damage, see photos. Both crosses are nicely period mounted on a medal-bar for wear on the 'walking-out' tunic. The medal bar is mounted on a metal-plate with a black woolen backing and comes with its functional pin/catch set-up. Nice original medal bar in good used condition!
