WH (Heer) Tropical Belt Buckle (Tropen Koppelschloß). With the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for 'Deutsches Afrika Korps', this included canvas web construction belt & buckles. Later during the war these tropical belts were, due to leather shortages, issued in all theatres of battle. Nice field-grey painted steel construction box buckle. The buckle is complete with its original tropical-type webbing tab. The buckle is nicely maker marked and dated 'CTD 1941' indicating production by the company of 'Christian Theodor Dicke' from Lüdenscheid in 1941. Nice original tropical belt buckle in good used condition!
