This is an award document for the German Eastern Front Medal (Medaille für die Winterschlacht im Osten). The German Eastern Front Medal was instituted on 26 May 1942 to commemorate the first winter campaign in Russia, operation Barbarossa. The medal was also known as the "Frozen Meat Medal". Approximately 3 million examples have been awarded. This award document was awarded to Obergefreiten 'Walter Keck' on the 1st of August 1942. The document has a nice handwritten name on it and is stamped 'Panzer Nachrichten Ersatzabteilung 81'. The DIN-A5 sized award document is folded once but is in good condition. Beautiful original award document!
