Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge 'Juncker'

Description

Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge (Erdkampfabzeichen). The Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge was introduced by 'Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring' on 31 March 1942. For award to all Luftwaffe personnel who had distinguished themselves in ground combat. Certain criteria had to be met for award of the badge with the main criteria being three separate ground combat actions. This badge is a nice 'Zink' example, the badge is having a separately attached tombak silver eagle. The badge is not visible maker marked, it can most likely be attributed to production by the company of 'C.E. Juncker' from Berlin. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The badge is showing some tenstion cracks and a small repair, please look at the photos. Juncker made ground assault badges are very rare and the badge is priced accordingly to its condition!
