Description
Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, the cross shows great detail. The cross is not visible maker marked. The cross is nicely period mounted on a so-called 'Einzelspange' (single medal bar). It comes with its functional pin/catch attachment for mounting it on a tunic. Nice example in very good condition!
