British Army Machete with Scabbard. During world war 2, the British and Commonweatlh soldiers were often issued a machete as opposed to an ax or smaller hatchet for field use. The machete was easier to carry and was as effective for most tasks short of chipping down large trees. The machete is nicely maker marked by the company 'S&J Kitchin Ltd.' from Cheffield and looks to be dated 1943, the scabbard is maker marked and dated 1943, it's also showing a Broad-Arrow marking. Nice set in good used condition!
