Cased Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer). The Hindenburg Cross was instituted in three forms on 13 july 1934 as a service medal for soldiers who participated in world war one. It was also the first decoration created by the Third Reich. The Hindenburg Cross comes with its original ribbon and is nicely maker marked with 'B.H.L.'. The cross comes in its original red coloured etui, the etui is showing minimal traces of usage. On the inside of the case is printed 'Treue um Treue, von Hindenburg'. It comes together with an original period sales leaflet. Nice set in very good condition!
