Cased Iron Cross 1st Class '3'

Description

Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) that comes in its original etui as issued. On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class medal was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. The magnetic cross has a three piece construction, the cross just shows normal wear and great detail overall. The cross is nicely maker marked with number '3' indicating production by the company of 'Wilhelm Deumer' from Lüdenscheid. A capital 'W' is stamped on the back. The cross comes with its original case, the case is in good used condition with some normal wear and small damages to the corners. Nice original set in good used condition!
