Cased Iron Cross 1st Class 'Souval'
Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) that comes in its original etui as issued. On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class medal was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. The magnetic cross has a three piece construction, the cross just shows some minor wear and is showing a nice darkened age-patina. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Rudolf Souval' From Wien (Vienna). The cross comes with its original case, the case is in very good condition with some normal wear and small damages to the corners. A nice and desirable original set in very good condition!
