World War 1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) in original presentation case. Re-instituted by King Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 for award during WWI. The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction and a magnetic core. The cross is maker marked 'WILM' indicating production by the company of 'H.R. Wilm' from Berlin. The cross comes with its original ribbon, nicely stored in a privately purchased type presentation case. The maroon-red coloured etui is showing minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition. Nice and decorative original set in very good condition!
