German Colonial Award in Bronze (Kolonialauszeichnung). The colonial award, also known as the Order of the Lion (Löwenorden), is a non-governmental German award from the time of the Weimar Republic. The award was instituted in 1922 in two classes by 'Generalmajor a. D. Georg Ludwig Rudolf Maercker'. The bronze class award comes without ribbon. It is nicely marked on the back with 'Ges.Gesch' and 'Nr.34162'. Nice original colonial award in very good condition!
