1st pattern hand-embroidered Luftwaffe Breast Eagle (Hoheitsabzeichen). This is an early first pattern example showing the so-called 'droop-tail' eagle. This is a breast-eagle as worn on the various Luftwaffe NCO's and/or Officer's Four Pocket Tunics (Waffenrock). This example is nicely hand-embroidered using silver-grey thread on a regular type Luftwaffe grey wool, having a thick cloth backing. The eagle is in very good, although clearly used and tunic removed condition. This would be a great addition to any insignia collection. One of the nicest first pattern eagles I've seen, stunning original piece!
