Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze für Offiziere). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased Officer's visor cap, the marking on the sweat diamond is not readable anymore, the leather sweatband however is nicely marked by the compan of 'Erel' from Berlin. The leather sweatband is nicely size 57 marked and dated 19 November 1941. The cap is having the silver piping for officers. The cap is named to an officer called 'Zeppenfeld' . The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered officer's type cap-eagle and an Officer's type hand-embroidered cocarde, both hand-sewn to the cap. The cap is in good used condition showing clear traces of usage. Hard to find original Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap in good used and worn condition!
