Rare WH (Heer) M35 DD Combat Helmet
Wehrmacht (Heer) Double Decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its typical early green paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. Both decals are in very good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage, both decals are retained for about 95%. This is a rare early reissued helmet, the decals are placed on top of another pair of decals which appear to be either early SA decals or early Police decals showing one larger Swastika decal beneath the national shield, see close up photos. The last photo is showing an early SA helmet with Swastika decal (courtesy of BeVo-Militaria). All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the early liner is having a single aluminum ring. The liner ring is maker marked by the 'Schuberth Werk K.G.' from Braunschweig. The original liner cord is present. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET66' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' from Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '2814'. The helmet is named to a Lieutenant 'Lt. Weinrich'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap with aluminum roller-buckle and studs, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1937. This is the first reissue like this I've seen and certainly an extremely rare helmet. Nice and honest original untouched early reissue WH (Heer) M35 DD Helmet in stunning condition!
This helmet originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum!
