US M-1943 Field Jacket - Pattern B 1943

Description

US M-1943 Field Jacket. The M43 field jacket was designed as a replacement for the various combat clothing worn by the different branches of service, this type of jackets were first issued to Airborne Units in the European Theatre of Operations (ETO) in 1944. The often missing manufacturer's label is present and the jacket is dated 15 November 1943 and size 34R marked. The fully lined interior comes with a tunnel looped drawstring at waist line. There are some minimal traces of usage. A name is stencilled inside the jacket. This is a so-called 'Pattern B' jacket having an enlarged circumference of the chest and upper arms to permit a better fit when the pile liner was worn underneath. Laundry numbers are written in the neck. Nice and hard to find early dated original US M43 field jacket in very good condition!
