Waffen-SS M44 Smooth Cotton Dot Pattern Trousers
Waffen-SS M44 Smooth-Cotton Dot Pattern HBT Camouflage Trousers (Tarnhose M44). The M44 dot pattern (Erbstarnmuster) camouflage uniform, consisting of a field blouse and pants was officially introduced on 1 March 1944. The trousers have two, diagonally angled, front pockets. A strap and metal buckle is sewn on each hip for tightening. The pants are in extremely heavy combat worn and 'patchwork' repaired condition using many pieces of camouflage material. See photos for more details. The heavily worn condition is in my opinion giving it a great look for a late war combat or POW display. It's almost a piece of art!
These trousers originate from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and were in display in the diorama in the last picture!
