Waffen-SS Death notice (Sterbebild). A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. This is a deathnotice for 'Richard Hönigsberger' who was a 'SS Hauptscharführer' and 'Zugführer' within a SS Panzergrenadier Regiment. He was killed in action on 3 March 1943 at Paraskowcja (south Charkov). Richard was awarded with the 'Iron Cross 1st Class', the 'Iron Cross 2nd Class', the 'Infantry Assault Badge', the 'German Eastern Front Medal', '1 October 1938 Medal' and the 'Wound Badge'. This a large sized death notice, measuring approximately 15 x 10,5 cms. Interesting original death notice!
