WH (Heer) Panzer-Regiment 5 'Afrika' Officer's Panzer Wrap (Panzerjacke). The panzer wrap is constructed of high quality black wool, the wrap is having two internal pockets, a pair of inner belt hook support straps and waist tie tunnels. The wrap is showing several size markings with a chest size of 100cms however the wrap looks to have been slightly enlarged under the armpits so the actual size might even be a bit bigger which will make this wrap perfect for any mannequin. The wrap is nicely dated 'WB39' indicating production in 1939. The pink piping around the collar has been period removed. The collar has a black painted steel hook and eye, the collar underside has lines of reinforcement stitching in a large zig zag shape. A pair of wool-type pink piped Panzer collar tabs are nicely factory machine-sewn to the collar, complete with steel type Panzer skulls, the skulls might have been replaced once. The wrap is having a nicely hand-applied high quality hand-embroidered officer's type panzer breast-eagle sewn to the chest. The wrap is complete with a pair of pink coloured sew-in type officer's shoulder-straps as inteded for a 'Major der Panzertruppen'. The straps are complete with numarl 5 cyphers indicating that this officer belonged to the 'Panzer-Regiment 5' which served in Afrika. A machine-embroiderd on camel-hair type 'Afrika' cufftitle is neatly hand sewn to the wearer's left-sleeve. There are award-loops for various awards including loops for a German Cross in Gold (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold). The wrap is in overall good condition showing some minor moth damages, see photos. The wrap comes together with a nice panzer officer's side cap with silver piping indicating an officer's rank, sewn on front are a nicely hand-embroiderd panzer cap-eagle and hand-embroiderd cocarde. The cap is nicely maker marked by the tailor 'Carl Bangerl, Uniform-Mützenfabrik' from Koblenz and size 59 marked, the big size for the cap matches with the bigger size for the wrap.
