WH (Heer) M35 SD Camouflage Helmet
WH (Heer) M35 Single Decal Camouflaged Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The period reissued steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its rough textured, (field-applied) two tone red-brown/green camouflage over-paint. An army decal is clearly visible beneath the paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches, see photos. The green camouflage paint is also visible on the steel liner ring. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with eight fingers, the liner is size '56' marked. The liner is complet with its original drawstring. There is some minor damage to the liner. The liner ring is maker marked and dated 1942. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q64' which indicates production by the company of 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' from Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number which is hard to read but looks like '1886'. A name is scratched in the back of the helmet 'Leonhard Schuh'. Nice and hard to find original camouflaged helmet!
