WH (Heer) 'Panzer' Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This looks to be an original EM's issue quality cap which has been period upgraded to an officer's rank, complete with partly damaged celluloid sweat-diamond ('Raute'), the cap is not visible maker marked. The cap is size '55' marked. The Visor cap is piped in the pink 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Panzer personnel. The leather sweatband is in good used condition, see photos. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered cap eagle and cocarde. The cap is having an officer's type chinstrap. The cap is showing some minor traces of usage and/or storage and one small repaired damge on front of the cap, see photos. The cap is having a great 'Sattelform' shape and will look great in a Panzer combat display. Great and scarce original Panzer Officer's Visor Cap in good used condition!
